FISHING IN OUR NECK OF THE WOODS

This has been a great year for our local fisheries. Large catches of yellow perch and walleyes have been reported all along the western basin of Lake Erie. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources just released rainbow trout at Olander Park.At one of my favorite places on the Maumee River, Mary Jane Thurston State Park,we enjoyed a great season of crappie, white bass, catfish fishing even if the river was higher than usual this year.Great place to take the family and camp over and wade fish.

Hunting Seasons Upon Us

Deer Gun season is finally here. And here's a tip for all you sluggers: When hunting high pressure areas look for long ,dense grass fields. Deers like to hide in this as most hunters pass over the open area looking for them in wooded places.Fall turkey season has been reported as off to a slow start with less turkeys being taken or at least reported than last year at this time. Remember: Please be careful and Think Saftey First. Be aware of the full picture. Good Luck!
